When I was told I'd be reviewing Tyrannothesaurus and I read the word ‘emotronic' I thought ‘Tricky... how am I going to listen to it without vomiting blood?' but now I HAVE heard it, I'm pleased to inform you that I wouldn't necessarily describe it as emotronic. It's actually damn good. ‘Break Things' is an aural treat-it reminds me of watching children's TV programmes on acid. Sporadic and punchy, a great song to drive around checking people out to this summer.

Like watching children's TV programmes on acid

A definite ‘marmite' band (you either like them or you don't-but you're obviously stupid if you don't) featuring members Matrug and Liam N.RG, they formed in early 2007 after doing various projects together, record in a kitchen and their first gig was in October 2007 in Edinburgh, with Trash Fashion and their most recent was also in Edinburgh with Trash Fashion and Dance Lazarus Dance. They've played all over the country, namely London, Glasgow, Leeds and so on. They tend to throw ideas around over the internet and write songs in short bursts as Mat is at Uni in Leeds, whereas Liam is in St.Andrews so geographically it's difficult, though luckily not impossible to collaborate.

They are into Test Icicles, Bloc Party, Glassjaw, the Rapture and Foals and they're ‘all over the place music wise' I was talking to Mat last night who revealed that their new stuff is less gimmicky and a bit more mature (although one of the things I was loving was the childlike cartoon-y advice on their myspace page ‘Brush your teeth twice a day' ‘Eat your veg' and so on) adding more guitar elements.

Catch them whenever you get chance. And don't forget to shout ‘Tits are for girls!'
