Review: LR Rockets - Personality/Pincer Movement

I think after listening to just a little bit of LR Rockets, it becomes crystal clear as to why they are named just so.  Fuelled with the energy of what could indeed be many riotous rockets, Personality is a nice concoction of beats and riffs that ever so subtly get you in the mood for dancing.

flaunting their distinct and delicious main vocals. It feels familiar yet exciting and new

The lovely thing about Personality is that, although its lyrics are powerfully emitted, it still remains melodic throughout, managing to create a fine balance between bedlam and bliss.  It is one of those songs that you can imagine would just be a treat on stage, as most of our listening pleasure derives from what we can only assume is the enjoyment of the LR Rockets themselves.  The title itself tells us all what this track is totally brimming with, along with a dash of oomph.

Accompanying Personality as a B-side is the rather infectious Pincer Movement.  A cascade of boisterous energy, the track does well to compliment Personality as its sexy sister-song.  With much more solo guitar woven throughout, the whole three minutes and eighteen seconds of Pincer Movement goes by without you even knowing where it has gone - in a good way, of course.  With a striking similarity to ¡Forward Russia!, the LR Rockets prove that the end of powerful pipes is nowhere near in sight, flaunting their distinct and delicious main vocals.  It feels familiar yet exciting and new, which is really quite a fine quality to possess at this stage in the life of the LR Rockets, and it seems that this may well be just the beginning - everyone, prepare for blast off.
