Review: KunK - Public Image Ltd
Wednesday, 25 June 2008

KunK, what a name for a band! And what a band they are! If you love heavy guitars, up-tempo beats and in your face lyrics, KunK are the band for you. This band rock and they rock out hard; every track from start to finish is straight in there, no messing around just pure quality.

Any track that starts with “I really like your skinhead” deserves all the credit in the world

One track that really catches my ear is a track called Public Image Ltd. Although the title sounds like some dodgy 80's electro-band, any track ever created that starts "I really like your skinhead" deserves all the credit in the world. The song itself is about the different images people make themselves into to fit in. We've all done it at some point in our lives, seen someone on T.V or in a magazine and said to ourselves "that guys cool, I wanna look like that". Then a few years later when a photo emerges we realise what a dick we really looked like! But hey at the time it was cool! Public Image Ltd makes fun of all these clichés people fall into. Like owning a skateboard, walking around with it but not being able to use it, it is just a public image. The lyrics are very witty and are shouted across in a way that sounds fantastic.

The Guitars are really hard and set the track off with a massive bang! From the start they are right in there thrashing away but keeping in time and a nice head banging tune going that really makes the track. There is also a wicked solo at the end and I can imagine live that it goes on for quite some time. The drums on the track are a bit steadier than in other tracks, but keep great rhythm and really polish of the track especially at the chorus when everything becomes that bit harder.

So go check them out KunK is the name of the band and I'm sure you'll love their tunes, they look like a band who are going places and have some really good songs under their belt already, if you like something that little bit harder KunK are your band
