A tune that has quite possibly already graced the space in everyone's mind labelled ‘I have a song stuck in my head' (much to our delight), Broadcast 2000's lovely ditty Get Up and Go has already made a name for itself having featured in E-on's latest television advert. Sound familiar? Yes, so that's where you've heard it before - quite right.

Gorgeously reminiscent of a lullaby, the song's soothing layers leads to an effect upon listeners that is somewhat enticing

Perhaps to be considered in the same vein as talented musicians Sufjan Stevens and José González, the man behind Broadcast 2000 is rising star Joe Steer; multi-instrumentalist, self-recording/mixing/mastering artist and total musical whiz. And if you're thinking ‘one hit wonder', then please, do think again. Having written songs from his early teenage years, Steer and the Broadcast 2000 outfit have a number of tunes hidden up their sleeves (be sure to check out www.myspace.com/broadcast2000), of which this melting melody is but one.

Gorgeously reminiscent of a lullaby, Get Up and Go's soothing, soft and smooth layers leads to an effect upon listeners that is somewhat enticing. The lull, however, does not equal dull - quite the opposite, in fact, for with its soft percussion undertones the tune becomes instantly catchy and captivating. The perfect ‘I'm on a train and I'm passing by the time in style and most beautifully' song, Get Up and Go revels in its sounds of purity and poise. Undoubtedly there will be much more Broadcast 2000 to look forward to in the not-too-distant future, so keep an eye out for gigs cropping up over the summer. So what are you waiting for? Get up and go get in on it!
