All the King's Men are a Manchester born and bred band that write songs for Manchester about Manchester and they do it well, very well in fact. There are hundreds upon hundreds of Manc bands out there doing their own thing, and there are hundreds upon hundreds of bands who copy the Manc sound with some effect. But All the King's Men manage to redevelop the Manchester sound into their own form to produce something a bit different.

This is music written by real people who spit, swear, smoke, drink and fight

You may say they sound like the Arctic Monkeys or the Pigeon Detectives and they're just another copycat band. But I disagree on this totally. All the Kings Men represent the soul of Manchester, what Manchester really is; the people, the sounds, the sights and smells are all in their lyrics. This is music written by real people, real people who spit, swear, smoke, drink and fight and this can be heard in the lyrics of their songs, there's no namby pamby side stepping around things, it's straight in there with the Manchester cheek and pride.

Peterloo is a song written by the band about the Peterloo massacre that took place in 1819. The song is instantly in your brain after the 1st rift and the vocals are very clear and powerful. The chorus is very unique and would be great to play to a large audience, as they'd pick it up and sing along straight away raising the atmosphere. There is a lot of Manchester pride in the track and the vocalist definitely has a ‘Clash' in your face punk sound to him. This does the track amazing justice as the guitars and drums are spot on. This song shows the bands ability to write great tracks that have an important meaning. So many bands now are just writing songs to get on the bandwagon but then falling off after one hit as their music has no staying power and no meaning; All the Kings Men are different.

Just listen to any of the songs on the band's EP or Myspace and you'll see what I mean, each song has a meaning and serves a purpose. The tracks in general are very catchy but they're a lot harder and punchier than the likes of the Arctic monkeys, in a fight my money would be on All the Kings Men any day!
