Interview: Kate Starr
Monday, 19 November 2007
Image Contrary to popular belief Kate Starr is not the daughter of British madcap comedian Freddy Starr but in fact is an American multi talented singer/songwriter. Kate jumped to the chance to take the TSM Radio interview when she heard the questions were to be compiled by top American TV chat show host Geraldo Rivera (apparently she has a crush on him). Unfortunately this was a typing error and they were actually compiled by Gerald River, he cleans out our drains once a month, quite acceptable rates actually.

Lesson to be learned, Never go to the hair cutting training camp for a cut just cause you're broke!

Which is the best Fugazi album ?
God.  That's a toss up between '13 Songs' and 'Steady Diet of Nothing'.
I have fond memories rocking out to those tapes when I was a punk rock baby brat.  Classic tunes there.
Have you ever given up on a lover?
Lovers aren't projects to be given up on; just enjoyed in the moment as they are.
Fancy Dress? - What shall I go as?
A fancy dress? That'd be pretty cool.  You could have the hanger coming out and all. I was Rainbow Brite for Halloween. All these Brooklyn hipsters are pretty smart, but I think the most clever costume I saw walking down McKibbin St. was the Macy's card from all of those damn MySpace hacker ads. I got a giggle.
Have you ever had your hair cut...and thought...I could do better myself?
Not really, cause I can't cut a straight line to save my life. I do remember one time being in the chair and squirming while trying to hold my head still so the chick didn't screw it up even worse! Lesson to be learned here: Never go to the hair cutting training camp for a cut just cause you're broke!

How many instruments can you play?
Let's see:
1. guitar
2. bass
3. keyboards when I'm drunk
4. drums and I sound like I'm drunk
5. the Jem Cohen film while having a nice little dinner party with your closest rock n roll buds. Quite a good time.
What is the best song to learn playing the guitar to?
One that you're really passionate about, or one that incorporates the
chords that you already know, but now that's not learning is it.
Cheater!!
If I gave everyone in the world a peanut, would it make a difference?
Are we talking the two raw peanuts in the shell and all, or the sugar coated honey roasted variety? If it's the later, I'd say hell yeah.
Sugar makes everybody happy, at least until the crash.
I bloody love sausage sandwiches, what is your favourite snack?
PB and J with a big, big cup of coffee. Did I say big?

Does your feet or mouth run faster?
Depends on the day. Most times they are running around the same pace,
which works out nicely.
Why do fools fall in love?
Because it feels soooooo good.
