Interview: Joe Hay
Wednesday, 26 September 2007
Image This time round Edinburgh based Music Composer/Electronica Artist/Producer/Remixer Joe Hay steps up and tackles the totally random questioning of the TSM Radio interview. Joe Hay is so multi talented that whilst answering the questions for the interview he invented a new music genre, solved Britain's debt problem and also baked a tiramisu that rivalled anything Delia could have churn out.

I do find Gauls entertaining. I would love to have just one meal with Asterix.

Can you give me an example of an experience with Karma?
Apart from watching my Name is Earl?
What is the best sound in the world?
See Q6, but it is the start of 'Exercise One'. Makes the hairs on the
back of my neck stand up.
Fancy Dress? - What shall I go as?
I was once told I would like quite good in a catwoman outfit
(Michelle of course and not Halle). But, it would have to be Chad Vader for me. Definitely not Darth though! I want to install the new laser checkout system!
Do you find Vikings entertaining?
No, but I do find Gauls entertaining. I would love to have just one meal with Asterix.

Who has influenced you the most musically?
Lots and lots, but the main two are Ultravox and Joy Division.
Although if was asked what band I would like to have been in, it would
have to have been the Police. Looks like it would have been a laugh.
Hmm, maybe without Sting though!
What is the most inspiring piece of music you have ever heard?
I will never forget the first time I heard 'Exercise One' by Joy Division. The sound at the beginning is almost out of this world. Still sends shivers down my spine to this day.
Would you like a piece of my Toblerone?
No thanks, but I will give you a fiver if you can get cabana bars
back again. You know the one with cherry and coconut. Yum, Yum. In
fact make it a tenner!
Is it safe to thaw out Chickens in a spin dryer?
I suppose if you are a vegetarian, then yes.

What has made you smile today?
Cadburys' Gorilla/Genesis advert on TV - funny as.
Do you know any good Knock Knock jokes?
Knock Knock:

Who's There?

Sadie

Sadie Who?

Sadie magic words and I'll tell you.

Sorry, but you did ask!
